Take Charge of your Health

In this fast-paced society that we live in today, we can easily get disconnected with healthy eating habits. We are getting further and further away from the raw, but also from the freshly cooked and authentic food. We rely mostly on the quick fix blend of the synthetic supplements and processed food. As we push ourselves to excel in all levels of our lives, we do not exercise as needed, sleep and relax less. Then, we rely on the cyclic fast buzz of the caffeine and sugar to push us further until we crush again.

The food we consume, in haste, is deficient in nutrients due to genetic engineering, multiple processing and overuse of chemical additives and pesticides. It may be bleached and at times colors and flavorings are added to make it look appealing. It is sealed in plastics which cause further chemical contamination and may be frozen.

Animals are fed antibiotics to prevent illness, growth hormones to speed up their development and anti-depressing drugs to tenderize their meat (Their body secrets high levels of cortisone due to the tremendous stress they go through and that makes their meat dark and hard to consume).

Our body is constantly regenerating itself and it is entirely renewed every seven years. Therefore, our choices of food affect us at a cellular level. Diseases in humans are directly or indirectly caused by a lack of essential nutrients which include vitamins, dietary minerals, essential fatty acids, co-factors and essential amino acids in the diet. Deficiencies can lead to a variety of health problems, such as skin problems, premature aging, defective bone growth, difficulty learning and chronic fatigue.

Nutrition is detrimental to our existence

If your diet is mainly consisting of the above-described poisoned, nutrient-deficient food, imagine the damage done to your cells and DNA! The long-term consumption of these foods is a central contributor to the lifestyle diseases from which many people in developed countries are now suffering. These are few ways to stay or get healthy:

  1. Eat continuously a combination of raw and cooked foods (steamed, stir-fried lightly with coconut oil or olive oil or oven baked). Use fresh, natural food (organic whenever possible). Raw food offers us enzymes. Enzymes have been described as complex substances which enable us to digest food and to absorb it into our blood. It has also been claimed that enzymes digest cancers.
  2. Make fresh smoothies at home at least every morning. Include moringa with some fruits and vegetables of your choice and ground seeds.
  3. Use unprocessed sea salts for minerals and electrolytes that your body needs for proper functioning. Avoid adding salt after the food has been cooked.
  4. Drink at least 2 liters of water per day. If it’s difficult to do so, flavor your water with citrus and herbs.
  5. Enjoy a variety of fiber-rich whole grains such as black or brown rice, amaranth, quinoa, buckwheat, teff, and barley to make sure that your diet is not dominated by wheat.
  6. Have on hand and eating healthy snacks, such as hummus, vegetable sticks, and crackers to keep sugar levels stable, if needed.
  7. Eliminate the toxins that have built up in your system by continual cleanses. You absolutely must get these toxins out of your body if you want to cure and prevent illness and disease. Getting the toxins out of your body can immediately increase energy, helps you lose weight, eliminates depression and anxiety, and potentially reverses most illnesses and disease. Moringa with its 46 types of antioxidants and loads of chlorophyll can help, but you must also do regular cleanses such as colon cleanse, liver cleanse and Candida cleanse.
  8. Exercise and stretch daily.
  9. Give attention and consideration to the other two parts of your being, namely your mind and spirit. They provide your total life with complete health. Integrate into your daily activities, deep breathing, spiritual practices and time outs where you completely calm your mind and/or practice awareness. We can eat the finest and most constructive food in creation, but this will not prevent the disintegration of the body if resentments, fear, worry, frustration and negative states of mind are permitted to obsess us.

Our diet, more than any other factor, has the biggest influence on our health. Our body draws the energy and nutrients to repair and rebuild itself from elements of our diet. Even our thoughts and emotions are influenced by the quality of our food. Making healthy choices can improve and maintain well-being. Eating well will leave you feeling more energetic, will give you a healthy glow and help maintain weight for a longer, healthier and happier life. As a final note, remember that maintaining a positive mindset is key to good health.
