Man Up: Taking Men’s Health To The Next Level With Natural Supplements

In recent years, men have begun taking their health into their own hands more frequently.

The days of visiting their doctor once a year for an annual checkup, followed by going on a list of new medications and swallowing it down with a glass of milk are long gone.

New research into holistic supplements, diets and lifestyle changes have begun to wake both men and women up into the reality that health is not a “one-size-fits-all” concept.

And it should…A 2007 study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism (1), revealed a “substantial” drop in testosterone among American men since the 1980s, with average levels declining by about 1% each year.

To put into perspective, a 60-year-old man in 2004 had testosterone levels 17% lower than those of a 60-year-old in 1987.

Why is this so alarming?

Testosterone is the lifeblood of a man’s mood, energy, libido, bone strength, recovery and so much more.

Men with low testosterone can have lower muscle mass, (and less ability to develop muscle mass) lower sex drive, enlarged breasts, hot flashes, more prone to irritability, depression, lower concentration, hair loss, brittle bones, less energy and more.

Some reasons why your testosterone may be lower can depend on lifestyle choices such as lower physical activity (sedentary lifestyle), diet, weight, alcohol consumption and sleep quality.

Perhaps the scariest cause of lower testosterone is the consumption of toxins and chemicals in the food and drinks we consume on a daily basis. Studies have shown there are over 800 EDC’s or endocrine-disrupting chemicals in common, everyday products (2).

These cause disruption at the cellular level at any point during the hormonal process, from the gland that produces the hormone to the tissue that receives it and many points in between.

What can you do?

There are many things that men can do to improve their testosterone levels – the easiest being lifestyle changes.

Participating in daily exercise, diet changes, getting better sleep and drinking no or less alcohol can be major contributing factors in raising testosterone levels.

Taking testosterone-boosting supplements

Consuming supplements that are shown to aid in increasing men’s testosterone and overall well-being are also a great option.

There are many testosterone-boosting supplements that say they can increase men’s testosterone levels but many have artificial chemicals and can be very costly.

The market for these types of supplements is huge, but how do you know they even work? What types of ingredients should you look for when buying a testosterone-boosting supplement?

Let’s break down some of the main ingredients in the product “Man Up” from Nia Pure Nature:

Organic Ashwagandha Root: Also known as “Indian Ginseng”. A herb used for thousands of years in Ayurveda – which is the traditional medicine of India. Known to help with alleviating stress and anxiety, overall reducing cortisol levels. Can help improve quality of sleep, cardiorespiratory performance and strength performance. It may also help improve sperm quality in men. (3)

Organic Tribulus Fruit: Is an herb used in traditional Chinese medicine. It has also been used in Ayurveda – which is the traditional medicine of India. The compounds found in tribulus have potential antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-aging properties. Most notably, organic tribulus fruit has evidence that it can improve sexual desire, increase sexual satisfaction, and reduce symptoms of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men, as well as enhance libido in women. (4)

Organic Shatavari Root: Has been used for centuries in Ayurveda – the traditional medicine of India to support the reproductive and digestive system in humans. It has shown evidence to soothe the digestive and respiratory tract, promote a healthy immune system, and aid in antioxidative support. (5)

Organic Hybanthus Flower (Ionidium Suffruticosum): Another medicinal plant primarily used in the herbal Indian traditional medicine called Ayurveda. It is widely used to treat male fertility issues. Studies have shown organic hybanthus flower can increase sperm count and sperm vitality in males. (6)

Organic Ceylon Cinnamon Bark: Is a type of cinnamon, mainly derived from Sri Lanka that comes from the bark of an evergreen tree. Ceylon cinnamon bark has amazing anti-inflammatory properties and may also replicate the effects of insulin on the body by lowering blood sugar levels. It also contains the mineral manganese – which has been shown to aid in your body’s management of enzymes that produce hormones and help repair your bones (7).

Organic Cardamom Fruit: Is a spice that has been used for centuries in traditional herbal medicines throughout India. Has been used as a diuretic to lower blood pressure (8), help alleviate inflammation, improve breathing and more. It may also have the ability to kill cancer cells in the body (9).

When all of these compounds are taken in one supplement, they can drastically improve the health and wellness of the individual.

What should you look for?

When searching for a men’s health supplement, remember to search for these properties: Anti-inflammatory, stress-reducing, libido-boosting, antioxidative and energy-improving.

Along with lifestyle changes, you can improve your testosterone levels. Always consult with a registered physician first before deciding to take any new supplements or substances. It’s time to take men’s health to the next level and “Man Up”.
